Works are underway to support the construction of a new underground rail station at Domain.

During the July school holidays, major works will be carried out on St Kilda Road to install a new tram connection between Toorak Road West and St Kilda Road.

Avoid the area or allow extra travel time.

From Saturday 1 July to Tuesday 11 July, one traffic lane will operate in each direction on St Kilda Road between Domain Road and Toorak Road West / Kings Way.

Buses will replace Route 3, 3a, 5, 6, 16, 58, 64, 67 and 72 trams on St Kilda Road between the Shrine of Remembrance and High Street.

Lane closures will also be in place on Toorak Road West, and there will be no access to St Kilda Road from Kings Way and Bowen Crescent. However, local access will be maintained and St Kilda Road traffic can exit via Kings Way or Bowen Crescent.

During this time, people are advised to plan ahead and avoid the area, or allow an extra 30 minutes for your journey.

Pedestrian and cycling access will be maintained. Pedestrians and cyclists should remain alert to the changed conditions and follow the safety directions of traffic management staff.
