Greens Resources spokesperson Ellen Sandell has written to the Ombudsman requesting an investigation into allegations that the state mining regulator coached a mining company on how to deceive VCAT.

“The public needs to know if public servants are giving mining companies an unfair advantage when applying for permits,” Ellen Sandell said.

“I’ve today written to the Ombudsman asking her to take a look and see whether this actually happened.

“The Minister for Planning should also call in the decision from VCAT so that consideration is paid to all environmental aspects of the quarry proposal,” she said.
