The 135 year old Victorian-era showroom at 488 La Trobe St, the old Spinks Tinsmiths factory, is going to be demolished in days to make way for a 60 metre tower of "shoe-box" apartments.

The Melbourne City Council, heritage groups, and local residents all asked the Planning Minister, Richard Wynne, to use his powers to grant heritage protection to this special building.

The Minister had 5 months to act, but refused to do so.

Tell Planning Minister Richard Wynne he must act now to protect Melbourne's heritage, including 488 La Trobe Street.
