GET DIRTY MONEY OUT OF POLITICS

‘I’ve called on the Andrews Government to ban bribes to politicians from the gambling industry and property developers. We must urgently restore integrity to the democratic process.’

Our democracy shouldn’t be placed in the hands of greedy gambling giants, fossil fuel companies or property developers with self-serving interests. It should be protected so that the voices of Victorians are heard.

In parliament, I passed new donation rules to cap big donations to political parties. We also introduced a bill to ban donations from property developers – unfortunately it was voted down.

Without reform, the candidates for the major parties will continue to enjoy dodgy donations that benefit themselves and their donors first and foremost, leaving our communities behind and our democracy under threat.
