TRAINS NOT TOLLS COMMUNITY FORUM

If the West Gate toll road goes ahead, it will flood inner Melbourne - especially North and West Melbourne and Docklands - with even more noisy and polluting cars.

Late last year, the Labor Government signed off on the West Gate Tunnel, a toll road from the western suburbs into the city.

It will dump thousands more cars onto local streets in inner Melbourne and pave the way for the East-West Link to be revived. This is a project that threatens our parkland and will further increase congestion.

Labor’s own modelling shows the toll road will improve the commute from the outer west to the city by only 8 minutes. They have kept other critical traffic modelling secret.

This is an unsolicited project designed by a private company, Transurban, with one goal in mind: profits. While we stand to lose out, this big business with make millions.

In 2014, our community came together to fight against the East-West toll road, and won. In 2018, we need to come together again.

Join Ellen, Greens Spokesperson for Transport Sam Hibbins, and Melbourne City Councillor Rohan Leppert, to learn more about the West Gate toll road, and what we can do together to campaign for better public transport, not toll roads.
